Well, here we go! After wanting to do this game for so long, we’re finally moving forward! We’ll update the DEVblog weekly (at least try to) and keep the forums running constantly. Feel free to come over anytime and take a peek at what we’re doing…even comment and give your suggestions. We welcome them. This game is FOR the many Archon fans out there, so your input is imperative to the success of the game. If you don’t remember Archon, or have never played it, it is one the best games ever made. It features a chess-like board where you take turns with your opponent moving pieces around. Each piece has different powers and abilities. Once you “challange” your opponent for a square, it really gets exciting. Instead of simply taking the square and removing the opponents piece from the board, the square opens up into an arena where your two pieces fight it out.
The great thing about this game is it gives the “pawn” piece a fighting chance against a “queen” piece if you’re good with it. This is because the color of the square you fight on matters a lot. There is a “Light” team and a “Dark” team. When pieces fight, they have less power on the opposite color of square…so it is entirely possible for a “pawn” piece to have as much health as a “queen” piece if they right on the pawn’s color of square. Anyway, take a look around…register on the forums and participate, Let us know you’re out there and how you like the game. I loved this game as a kid. talked about it often.

Wish you guys the best of luck on developing the game. It’s shocking how long it has taken for a solid game like this to come out for modern gaming. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this one. In a video game world where high end hard core gaming its king, this is a welcome change of pace.

I still have some of the earlier forms that were associated with this url, really hoping all will come together and take off, it was so close just a few years ago, is that still the basis or is it all being reworked again?

Both, I guess. We are continuing where we left off AND enhancing what we have for modern consoles.

Hi, Great game! But a question: Is there a trick to getting my mouse to work? Once in awhile I see the cursor active for a second, but never consistent. All I can use is the keyboard, and I have a controller that works well. I would like to try playing with the mouse, or at least use it for menu selections.

Yes, there is pretty good AI implemented, but the most fun comes from playing against friends.

This game was one of the best ever! I loved to play it on my Atari 800XL. I wish, I could get it for my Xbox 360 as Arcade game!
